A. This website is a tool to facilitate interactions between customers and businesses. There are two ways in which these interactions can occur. First, businesses can create markers that encourage customers to come to a certain location at a certain time. Second, customers can “Friend” businesses to allow a dialogue to take place between the two through the in-app messages.
A. On this site, there is an events newsfeed page that shows you markers that are either for public display or from collections that you have specifically chosen to follow. If you are logged in, you can interact with some of those markers…such as check-in at a specific location or RSVP for a certain event. You can also choose to “Friend” an account, through the click of a button, in order to open up the lines of communication between the two of you. When you “Friend” a business, you both have the ability to send each other messages within the website.
A. There are several reasons you might want to Friend a business. You may have had a negative experience with an employee and want to tell the owner. You may want to ask the owner if a product is in stock. The business in turn may be interested in sending out an invite to a VIP event at their store, or just curious about what else they can do to improve the experience.
A. You don’t really need to do anything. You can simply browse around and check out the public events and promotions displayed on the site.
If you want more, however, you will need to create an account. This just requires your email address and a username (in case you want to create content). Once you create an account, you can start friending businesses or start earning any rewards (i.e. coupons, private messages, etc) associated with certain markers.
A. Just as you would with any other website, you'll be able to interact with Frnd.Us with an internet accessible device, such as a smartphone, tablet, or PC.
If you would like to interact with a marker, then you'll need to be able to follow the requirements for that marker, usually it's just a matter of pressing a button on your device (i.e. "checking in") while at a specific location or after having done a specific task.
A. Some of the collections are created by Frnd.Us staff, but most of the content is created by people just like you.
A. There are mostly three different types of people here:
A. If you have an account, you can create a marker at any location on Earth, either at your current location or by entering in an address.
A. It makes no difference as long as the device has access to the internet. If trying to interact with an interactive marker, then a GPS enabled browser/device may also be necessary. Nearly all modern smartphone, tablets, and laptops are empowered with the ability to determine your location.
A. It shouldn't be a bother! Frnd.Us is here for your benefit. It's here to help you communicate with business owner, tell you when and where things are happening, and reward you for going.
A. Not really. Our only source of revenue is from businesses who subscribe to the website in order to have the ability to engage in dialogue with customers and offer out promotions. Individual businesses will never have access to your direct contact information. They will only be able to contact you through Frnd.Us.
A. We make our money by charging businesses the ability to offer certain types of promotional marker as well enable the ability to be friended. As mentioned above, once a business is friended by a customer, the two can interact with each other through in-app messages.
A. Nope. For now, we just have the website.
